This will be the only time you’ll be happy to hear the words “flea” and “animals” used together! On Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28 from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark will be hosting their annual flea market fundraiser to be held at the shelter.
All of the proceeds from the flea market will go towards the care of the animals in the shelter.
Donations are welcome for this event. Items for the flea market may be dropped off at the shelter during operating hours (Tuesday-Saturday: 10:00 am-4:30 pm and Sunday 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm).
A list of suggested donations as well as a list of items that cannot be accepted can be found on the blog section of the Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark’s official website at www.pjhumane.org.
Lock & Roll Self Storage, Inc. of Port Jervis has donated a storage unit for the shelter to use for two months to store donated supplies.
The Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal shelter funded solely by private donations. The shelter receives no operational capital from government or any other group. What keeps the shelter going is the funds generously donated by the community and friends who hold the same belief as the shelter that animals deserve the chance to have a good, long, healthy, happy life in a loving and caring home for the rest of their lives. On average, the shelter intakes nearly 1,000 animals per year, either stray or surrender. It is through the hard work of the shelter staff and volunteers that the shelter is able to help all of these animals in need. Shelter supporters who donate give the shelter the ability to keep the shelter doors open and serving the public and the animals in the shelter’s care.
The Humane Society of Port Jervis/Deerpark is located at 202 Route 209, Port Jervis, NY 12771.
