On Saturday November 8th at around 12:30 PM Members of the Town of Deerpark Police Department made the largest seizure of marihuana in the Town’s history. Town Police seized approximately 51 pounds of marihuana which has an estimated value of $225,000.00. Along with the marihuana $800.00 in cash was also seized.
A tip was received of a delivery to an empty residence on Wren Lane in the Town of Deerpark. A subsequent surveillance resulted in the arrest of Allen Simonson, 31 YOA, of Port Jervis, NY. He was charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the First degree, a Class C Felony. He was arrested, booked and arraigned before Port Jervis City Court Judge Matthew Witherow. He was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 Bond.
The Town of Deerpark Police was assisted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office and the Orange County Drug Task Force.
